PURPOSE OF JOB

This position will provide support to different functions of the EHS, Operations and Facilities department related to coordination and leadership in the compliance of prevention programs, training for emergency attention and critical jobs for new personnel such as suppliers, risk assessment, support required in plant and ergonomic self-assessments, among others.

This position requires advanced knowledge in occupational health, leadership in the execution of programs, knowledge in national requirements, risk assessment and critical jobs, as well as proactivity and analytical skills to identify, propose and implement solutions to various problems. 

JOB OPERATION/ELEMENTS

Responsibilities 

•    Lead the prevention programs and execute the occupational health programs together with the different departments.

•    Maintain and audit compliance with Fatality Prevention programs (Fall Protection, Hot Work, Hazardous Energy Control, Electrical Safety, Confined Space among others). 

•    Participate and provide support in EHS related incident/accident investigations.

•    Support in Industrial Hygiene tasks for Chemical, Noise and Lighting Exposure.

•    Create and update programs for fire protection systems, emergency response and everything related to human safety.

•    Assist with tasks related to EHS, production, engineering, and facilities as required. 

•    Coordination of safety and personal protective equipment and purchasing, as required.

•    Collaborate and audit compliance with national occupational health requirements such as emergency and occupational health plans as well as participate in occupational health committee meetings. 

•    Coordinate training and training to the personnel that require it in occupational health issues.

•    Coordination and support in brigade training, for the execution of drills, practices for emergency attention, required equipment, among others. 

•    Management and control of contractors and persons providing services to the corporation.

•    Review, control and modification of procedures of the occupational health and safety management system.

•    Providing training in critical tasks, emergency response and EHS for employees, suppliers and contractors.  

•    Identify and implement process improvements.

•    Execute ergonomic evaluations in the different areas and propose improvements in conjunction with the corresponding department.

•    Follow up on stretching and active breaks programs. 

•    Communication and promotion of safety culture for all internal personnel, such as contractor workers.

•    Statistical control of incidents and accidents generated. 

•    Support initiatives and activities coordinated by the Free Trade Zone administration related to EHS issues.

•    Generate and present reports to management regarding the status of relevant EHS issues.

Note: This position requires occasional visits to the night shift. 

EDUCATION:  

•    Bachelor’s degree in occupational and environmental health. 

•    B2 English Level or above

•    2-3 years of experience in EHS work.
