PURPOSE OF JOB

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Indirect Material Buyer for a 6-month temporary role. The ideal candidate will have experience in indirect procurement within a regulated industry—medical devices experience is a strong plus. This role is critical to ensuring uninterrupted support for our operational and administrative needs.

RESPONSABILITIES

Procure indirect goods and services including MRO supplies, lab consumables, PPE, facility services, and more.

Ensure compliance with internal policies, budgets, and quality standards, especially those related to regulated environments (FDA, ISO 13485).

Evaluate supplier quotes, negotiate pricing, and secure favorable contract terms.

Maintain strong relationships with key vendors and monitor supplier performance.

Work closely with cross-functional teams including Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Finance.

Generate and track purchase orders using ERP systems.

Support continuous improvement in procurement processes and cost-saving initiatives.

To include suppliers in approved suppliers in QCBD.

To prepare and send purchase order to suppliers accordingly.

To monitor and control the purchase orders in the ERP system and deal with the suppliers if any discrepancy is found.

To coordinate the distribution or deliveries of materials and supplies.

To request quotes from suppliers regarding any Theragenics requirement in order to get the most competitive price.

To track supplier`s deliveries and prevent (or minimize) delays.

To support and solve problems related to purchases or discrepancies in supplier`s deliveries. 

To monitor the inventory of MROs items.

Create and manage the Master Production Schedule (MPS) for Theragenics Costa Rica, communicate the detailed weekly/monthly schedule to stakeholder departments, and ensure its execution aligns with customer requirements in a timely manner.

To develop recovery plans for materials in backorder.

To support the quarterly physical inventory.

To create and manage the Master Production Schedule (MPS) of Theragenics Costa Rica.

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field preferred.

Requires to learn and apply basic math skills, moderate levels of skills, and operation of equipment used by the Materials Department. Microsoft Excel proficient 100%. 

English B2

EXPERIENCE:

4+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain, preferably with indirect materials.

Experience in a medical device, pharmaceutical, or similarly regulated industry is a plus.

Strong negotiation, communication, and supplier management skills.

Knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) is preferred.

Working knowledge of regulatory environments and documentation requirements.
