PURPOSE OF JOB
Manage and optimize production schedules to meet demand forecasts, ensure timely delivery of products, and maintain efficient resource utilization RESPONSIBILITIES- Lead planning process for area of responsibility and ensure cross-functional consensus is reached on operation demand plans and inventory plans required to support customer service, and revenue objectives.
- Managing coordination with Shop Floor Execution teams to ensure optimal planning
- Maintaining and reporting on Key Performance Indicators on Planning adherence, WIP monitoring, Work Center Utilization, planning backlog, master data accuracy (planning related), customer backorder and lead time and schedule attainment.
- Performing and reporting on Rough Cut Capacity Planning and Master Production Scheduling on Production Planning and Scheduling.
- Ensure close collaboration with Supply Chain related teams to prioritize and communicate on supply planning manufacturing issues (demand vs supply planning gaps, backorder issues, unplanned events like demand reductions/increases).
- Prepare production planning reports "Adherence, Utilization, Capacity " for the production holes.
- Champion continuous process improvement within the planning function.
- Maintains product availability dates for customer service order promising.
- Serve as liaison between the Costa Rica Operation and US Customer Service Department.
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, Industrial Engineering or a related field (required).
- 5 - 7 years of experience in Production Planning on a regulated industry (required)
- APICS CPIM certification (required)
- Strong knowledge of purchasing principles and procedures (required)
- Familiar with an integrated ERP system (required).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and advance use of MS Excel (required).
- Lean Six Sigma certification will be considered a plus
- Experience in a medical device manufacturing industry is highly preferred.
- Able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Able to work independently and collaboratively with a team
- Ability to follow detailed procedures with several potential variables. Problem solving ability and interpretation of events required for practical matters
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
- Read/interpret with precision MRP suggestion reports
- Experience in a labor-intensive manufacturing environment
OTHER:
- Professional fluency in English is essential (C1) both written and oral (required).
